Logo Design Brief

We are looking for a unique logo design that portrays our organization's purpose, members, and spirit.

We are a civilian commercial aviation industry association dedicated to the future expansion of Blackhawk helicopters for civil and general aviation use (non-military). The purpose of our group is to bring together all companies and organizations related to Blackhawk helicopters in order to make a coordinated effort to support each other and expand the use of this airframe. From manufacturers, suppliers, maintenance facilities, owners, pilots, and operators, we are all committed to joining together to strengthen our common goal.

The logo should be crisp, not cartoony, detailed but not overly complex for future printing. Logo will be used on future digital and printed media such as magazines, business cards, brochures, website and email.

Logo does not necessarily need to be limited to a silhouette a bird / hawk, but those are also acceptable. Use of a helicopter is preferred. For using the aircraft silhouette, it should only be of the UH-60A or L variant (see attached images), not M upturned exhaust, not K minigun models, not Seahawk, Jayhawk or SOAR versions (no landing gear under the center of the aircraft, no refueling probes, no external fuel tanks or armament systems). External rescue hoists are acceptable, as well as external sling load or water bucket submissions.

We are trying to come up with something not overly cliche or clipart looking. Nothing "hand-drawn" or sketch looking. Graphics should be professional and strong. Graphic should be eye-catching, and immediately strongly convey our company. Designers should think outside the box, and submit uniquely appropriate logos. Emphasis should be on professional, unique, eye-catching, recognizable, relative, and impressive. This large format logo will be the centerpiece of our organization, and portray our story in a single glance.

3 options should be submitted, one with text (TheBlackhawkAssociation.org) 1 with text (Blackhawk Owners & Operators Association), and 1 without (logo art only). Minimum size dimensions 1080 x 1920.

Please find attached some current industry examples for context and historical reference. The attached photos and logos are of our member companies, and the helicopters they use. this will help provide a feel for the current industry.

Requirements

Nice to have

• See the attached "The Blackhawk Vault" sample logo. This Air Millhouse Italic font was used on a previous project, and when printed using silver metallic foil, on a black background looked very nice and professional on our business cards. The text had a chromed metal 3D look. Font does not need to be exactly this thick or bold, but the style of font felt right for the group. Just a suggestion, not a requirement. This italic font could even be further italicised for an edgier, bold look.
