Logo Design Brief

Hi Welcome to the Poke design competition.

We're building an interesting business around the concept of a Poke. Poke.Me is the website and the concept is meeting, greeting, sharing, joining, clicking, and connecting all types of people, businesses and products.

We're looking for a classic logo that works well on a business card or website or even an iphone app.

Based in San Fransisco we want to make connecting with other like minds or businesses as easy as a simple poke. Our initial app will be an iphone/android app that connects people brilliantly via email/text/sms/flash message/bluetooth/wifi/whatever you want.

Think of an app that helps you through the day. Could be a poke to wake-up. Or a poke for a news item, maybe a poke on a special offer on the way to work. Or a poke from your mates to meet up for a drink. How about a poke from the girl across the room. Poke me will help you connect, share, meet and hopefully lots more.

The design needs to be iconic and we're happy to have words and/or graphics as well.

• must have the word Poke (the website will be poke.me )

Nice to have

• It would be good if it works well as an iphone app button. But then again facebook is just an F. Engadget is just an E and Kayak just a K.
  
  Tripit and Ebay work with the whole word but we don't want to be like the paypal P logo. should be at least two colours and have real standout.
  
  Most apps seem to have an "icon" then the name underneath. The Angry Birds icon is kinda cool and the Comic life (Words) logo looks good.
