This is the first time Im getting a web site and what I had in mind was that the designers would've given me something kind of ready to go. I hope that makes sense.

I can submit my designs for the price however development will cost more, if you like my designs and choose me in the end then I can give you a quote for the development. Some might give you the lot for the price however you probably won't get the quality.

I usually ask whether you want it coded too so I know what you're expecting from the end product. So if your happy to receive just the design for this contest I am more than happy to submit, just let me know.

I agree with the last post, the budget is about right for produce quality design only. The development costs will vary depending on the design ... but approx the coding and testing (which is very important) will be anywhere from £300 - £1000. As the previous post suggests... you really do not want to loose quality because of budget. To give you an example we are working on a fully integrated eshop site which is content managed by the client, enabling them also to be able to extract data (emails etc) from a custom built database, the project for the design was £2000 and the development £3600. But they will get an awesome design and a website with no glitches in any browser. If I were you I would request for design only on this site because you may land yourself with a few problems with cowboy developers.

Sorry, but I agree with the others, I think the cost should reflect design(s) for the site. You may want to look at creating a wordpress site to start and then uploading your chosen graphics as a theme of some kind.
