Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a company based in New Zealand called "Oceanbooks". Oceanbooks is an independent publishing company - we help people publish their own books - and we have an online bookshop that lists only books by New Zealand self-published authors. The company has grown out of a co-operative of authors in New Zealand but is now run as a private business.
We would like to see modern designs that incorporate the idea of books or writing with an ocean or beach theme, and would be interested to see designs that incorporate Maori design elements (although we don't wish to limit the thought process too much). Our preferred colours are shades of teal or aqua with sandy brown accents.
The final design should communicate support for writers with a New Zealand flair.
