Logo Design Brief

Only USA Based designers, please.

I need a logo design for my personal site/blog http://www.liberalgeek.com

There are 3 main topics/concepts to the site and I would like to represent them all, if possible, within the logo:

1) Nerdy and/or Geeky - I'm a computer nerd and I love science.
2) Political - I post about politics a lot and usually with a liberal/progressive perspective
3) Atheism - I also post a lot about positive atheism and religion.

I do a lot of work with a website software named Drupal and I would like the logo to be based on the Drupal logo. It is very common in the Drupal community to do spin-offs of the drupal logo which are themed to individual subjects.

I have attached some examples of other modified drupal logos.

The top left is the standard, unmodified drupal logo. All of the rest are different spin-offs of the drupal logo. One has earth-skin, another looks like cthulhu, one is a big gear, another is a ninja, etc.

I would like the logo to be based on the drupal logo but attempt to incorporate the 3 topics above. Some of the topics/features can be more subtle than others.

Beyond white, some greys and black, two of the existing theme colors on my site are:

darker blue: #1294de
light blue: #b7dff5

The logo doesn't need any text, it will be placed to the left of the "LIBERAL GEEK" site title on http://www.liberalgeek.com/

Should not have

• One of the examples I linked above has little devil horns on the drupal logo. While I think that looks pretty cool, I want to avoid any type of evil/devil imagery for the atheism portion of the logo.
