Logo Design Brief
We need a logo design for a startup Sports Equipment online retailer. The site is intended to offer a new channel for consumers to buy deeply discounted Sports Gear. We will offer a variety of Sports, so design could be focused on any one-sport, a variety, or could be more general. If you choose to focus on one sport, ice hockey would be good as equipment costs are quite prolific in that sport.
The winning design should feel like a new/modern concept which is masculine and which evokes the excitement of getting a new piece of sports equipment or preparing to take the ice/field/court for a big game.

Just so you all know, "gear" is a slang term for sporting equipment ...so it's not like a gear in a machine. Thanks!

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: I have two great designs which are hockey-focused, but I'm worried that this may narrow my target audience too much. Looking for a strong sporty submission that is not just hockey. Sorry for the change from original thoughts. Thanks to all who have submitted so far!
