To whom it may concern,

Can you tell me something more about the project and what exactly you need. The brief is not very clear for me. I would like to work with you and just need a little more information about your idea.

Best regards,
Paoleta

Hi, the photo is of my boat name taken in the 70s. I would like to recreate the name as it was painted then. However, the photo isn't great, as you can see. The edges of the lettering need defining. I have tried using paint shop and the wand tool with bad results. I need somebody who knows what they are doing to define the edges so that I have a scalable graphic of the name Gertrude as shown in the photograph, recreated as faithfully as possible to the original. Ideally, in the same font as the original, I would like the other letters of the alphabet, or at the least the word Grant.
From the completed graphic I intend to make stencils using a laser cutter and recreate the original boat name as it appeared when the boat was launched.
In Summary, I need a graphic as near to the original(Orange photo) as possible that I can scale and use to form other words, at the least, Grant. I will be using it on the boat side, letter heads, cutlery, laser cut graphics etc.

Hi designers and thank you. This is the first time I've used this service and it feels a little odd choosing a single design when I see everybody has put effort into it. I don't know how you clean edges easily so well done! So far it is between paoleta and borzoid who have been as faithful to the original as possible whilst producing clean and scalable lettering. I think all could be a bit bolder and I am interested in seeing the letters that weren't on the original photo - a and n.

Once again, thanks.

The original was written by an amateur man and for sentimental reasons I am trying to keep it as close as possible to the original.

In all designs, so far, the a and n, the new letters, are not quite there with the a being too feminine and round, or too long tails with font slant angle incorrect.

All designs could do with being slightly bolder/thicker.

To everybody who submitted a design, thank you. There was a clear winner who stuck to the original and worked in the new letters around it, also altering the design to my brief.
