Diabetes Youth Auckland needs a new logo design to replace 'Buzzy Bear' which has become dated and doesn't reflect our brand well.
Diabetes Youth Auckland is a division of Diabetes NZ Auckland Branch which is part of Diabetes New Zealand. However we need to set ourselves a part as the group that supports young people aged 0 - 18 years and their families as our target market is very different.
We provide support and information through events, camps, information evenings and a newsletter to both young people aged 0 - 17 years with diabetes and their families in the Auckland region. 99% of our database has Type 1 diabetes, an autoimmune disease for which there is no known cause or cure. There is a small handful who have Type 2 diabetes. 65% of our database is aged 13 - 17 years.
Our new logo needs to be contemporary, distinctive in a competitive charity market & within the different diabetes groups in New Zealand, easy to read, easy to use on all our marketing communications and appeal to parents, children and teenagers (our biggest group).
Our current logo, Buzzy Bear has to be used alongside the Diabetes NZ Auckland Branch logo because on it's own the only word used is 'Youth' so no one knows it is Diabetes Youth Auckland.

Thank you for all your submissions. I was impressed with quality and we had plenty of good options to choose from. I have selected a logo and notifitied the designer. We are currently working on refinnig it a bit before final sign off.

- The words Diabetes Youth Auckland and a logo - ideally abstract. The colours should be modern, bold, edgy to appeal to teenagers but still work for younger kids and parents.
The typeface will also be important to look modern & edgy but professional enough to appeal to fund donors and sponsors.
