Book Cover Design Brief

I need a cover for my upcoming book, Fate Of Nations: Tesla's Tank. By Chris Kohout.

The summary:

1916 AD - Impending war with England has given Nikola Tesla the chance to build his dream: a weapon to end all wars. The American diesel-powered Beowulf tank is larger than a house, and carries enough firepower to face an army. Beowulf also has a mechanical brain, embedded with the consciousness of Colonel Browning, America’s best military strategist. But in England, King George has put Albert Einstein to work for his own war effort: zeppelins capable of reaching the former colony, and new, radiological bombs to remind them of the price of disloyalty. When two brilliant pacifists wield technology to bring peace to a planet at war, the final outcome will surprise them both, and the world.

The cover should convey a steampunk-type feel, set around 1916. A house-sized tank should be prominent, as well as a zeppelin in the background.

Overall, an epic nation vs. nation war should be alluded to. I've attached a few files that give a good flavor, but they're only to show a style.

Must have

• When your design is reduced to 90 pixels wide, it must still be recognizable and interesting. This is the size of an Amazon thumbnail image, and most people make the decision to click or not based on that. A great design should entice people to click for more detail, then offer more info at full size.
  
  The series will include books about each of the three main world powers: the Congressionals (N&S America), the Crowns (Britain, Africa & Europe) and the Asian Empire. I'd like a small element of the cover to be a stripe or banner than illustrate which of the three main factions this book is about. For the Americas, a red, white and blue design is fine. The Europeans should have a royal style, maybe in purple. For the Empire, maybe a white and red motif after the Japanese flag.
  
  "Fate Of Nations" will be the series title, and each book will have a subtitle specific to it, like "Tesla's Tank" in this case.
  
  Please deliver a layered PSD file with editable text, and include any needed fonts.
