Logo Design Brief

We need a simple logo for a new retail company called "DeQi". We sell high quality, mainly organic hand-loomed textile products and are considering a wider range of products in due course. The logo needs to demonstrate quality and class and have a healthy, fresh and sophisticated look. The logo must also seek to associate quality, customer service, simplicity and personality. The products and therefore brand colourings must be soft / pastel.

We are looking for:

(1) the company name image being simple - something like "DeQi" in a sophisticated yet funky italic grey in a cream / off white 2D rectangular box with a simple grey or black or navy blue border or perhaps cream / off white text with a soft grey background; and

(2) a sharp / cool logo that combines the "D" and "Q" of DeQi with a similar sort of colour scheme.

Please see attached examples for company name image which will hopefully give more guidance for the logo also.
