Packaging Design Brief

Planting Promise is a charity based in the UK that operates schools in Sierra Leone for some of the world's poorest children, We need new, updated packaging for our very popular snack, Welbodi Gari, which is sold on the streets of Freetown and run as a social enterprise. Sales revenue helps to fund our schools. The snack is loved by people of all ages and backgrounds and is considered healthy but tastes delicious. The packaging should be simple, bright, eye-catching, not overdesigned and should also be perceived as healthy, natural and accessible. The potential of this product is enormous and plans are in place to extend the Welbodi (meaning health in the local language) range in the future. So more opportunities for a good packaging designer. Target Market(s)

Product is universally popular with all ages and socio-economic groups. Men eat it as a dry snack during the day as do children and young adults. Women often take it home for toddlers and young children and it provides a ready mixed porridge.
