Logo Design Brief
We are seeking a logo design for “Belvoir Square”, a new luxury mixed-use community being developed in Belvoir, VA. The property is on Route 1 near the terminus of Fairfax County Parkway, directly across from the new Tulley Gate entry to Fort Belvoir, 15 miles south of Washington, DC. Fort Belvoir is the largest employer in Fairfax County; there are 45,000 on-base employees. Fort Belvoir recently completed an $800M community hospital, the Geospatial Intelligence Agency headquarters, JAG headquarters and the Missile Defense Agency Command Center.
The project will be a 283-unit mid-rise building with attached structured parking and 10,000 square feet of retail space. Architecture is “urban contemporary.” High-end materials will be utilized in the apartment interiors, such as granite counters/breakfast bars, brushed nickel fixtures, wood plank and tile floors, high-end wood cabinetry and 9-ft. ceilings. There is substantial storage space to contain residents service equipment and personal items.
The target renter works in or around Fort Belvoir. Employees at Fort Belvoir are mostly career-military. They are motivated by a sense of duty, disciplined and technically trained. They are from diverse ethnic and geographic backgrounds and have worked professionally around the globe. Renters lead a highly social, active lifestyle.
The property is designed to appeal to that demographic. The Resident’s Club has multiple gathering areas. There is a large courtyard with three distinct areas – one featuring fitness equipment (essentially an outdoor extension of the adjoining fitness center); another one with games and grills; and a third that is for quiet enjoyment. The property has a Fitness Center, separate yoga/spinning room, a Game Room with card tables, billiards and bar games, a Business Center, and bicycle storage/workspace.
The property will be built to LEED Silver construction standards or better.
