Logo Design Brief

Hi guys, we need a new logo for a small german shepherd dog breeding kennel based in Lisbon, Portugal. We breed the typical german shepherds you should be familiar with, with a black and tan color. What we have right now is an ugly, temporary logo, but we'd like to have a beautiful logo we could proudly use on our website and later on polo shirts for competitions. The dogs we breed are intelligent guard dogs, but most importantly they are happy, family-oriented dogs and it would be great if the design could transmit that idea.
