1 icon will take at least about 20 minutes (for a specialized prof, incl. exporting), it could be 1 hour (research/drafts/feedback/corrections)

Yes. Initial project is for icon design only. If successful, further project will be redesign of entire website with a much larger budget. The icon design is just an initial test to see how designcrowd works. If icons are well done, I would continue working with the icon designer for larger projects.

It is not strictly necessary to design new icons. You can use existing icons as a model and improve them by providing cleaner, sharper images that look good even on high resolution displays.

New icon design would take more time of course. It is not necessarily required for this project... you are very welcome to improve upon the icon set or not.

So you imagine, the freelancers here work at 2 €/hour? An experienced professional at 6 €/h?

...and this is just in case of winning,- all others work for free.
