Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for my Non-for-profit corporation - "Adventures with Mr. Math". I teach mysteries of math and advanced analytical reasoning techniques to gifted children age 8-12 in a fun environment.

In summary, I would like the logo to be "a pirate ship with math symbolic riding infinity waves".

I want the centerpiece for the logo to be a pirate ship, representing the spirit of adventures. The kids like to think that at Adventures with Mr. Math we are all pirates! Obviously, it has to be a "cartoon" pirate ship since the company is about kids.

I want to put math symbolic on the ship - things like Pi, square root of two, geometric figures or anything that has to do with math. It should probably go on the sails and maybe even in the shape of the ship itself.

If there is space for a captain, he should have a beard (Mr. Math, that is me, has a beard that any pirate would envy). But I may be pushing the limits of what can fit in a logo.

Finally, the world of math has no boundaries other than your imagination. This is best communicated through the infinity sign. I hope that you can creatively build-in the infinity sign into the shape of the waves under the ship.

I am not set on the color scheme. I probably would prefer to stick to some "ocean" colors - blue with some green. Attached is a scheme I used in the binder front page for the kids. Note that in the attachment I have the pirate ship and the math symbols inside the infinity sign, but that would not work for the logo where the pirate ship has to be the centerpiece or it would not scale down.
