Wordpress Design Brief
We need a website design for a genuine blog for related information to our mobile services we will provide in a future online shop (see a selection of products on our company page: http://www.almiralabs.com/vas-catalogue/end-users.htm).
This blog is thought to engage our final clients to get in contact with us. We want to provide them useful information about our different product and give them various interaction possibilities, like feedback/comments, content rating, watch video/audio files, Social network Adding and subscriptions to our news feeds and Newsletter.
But at the same time, a way should be found that the blog doesn´t seem to be overloaded with information and that it will be very intuitive in use of all offered functionalities. A valuable extra would be developing of a design which is adaptable to future expansion and adaption of additional content, categories, boxes or adds of our products.

Hi everyone!
First of all, thanks a lot for taking part in our design project for our future Worldpress Blog Design for our mobile service store.
Up to now the Store looks like that (http://www.fivebillionstore.com/es.html), but we thinking of major changes in design and a renaming of this store. It tooks us a time to define well the blog requirements, so it helps you a lot to check the short xcl., project brief and given examples beforehand to get a idea what we are looking for.
Based on the first submitted designs I want to give a short feedback:
- - The submitted designs up to now work with too dark/serious colors, please avoid black, where it isn´t necessary…visiting our blog should mean pleasure!
- Separate corporate & final clients design:
- The look and feel should be independent from our “Almira Labs” Company design, since we don’t want to make a direct reference to us within our new store. Our company itself, Almira Labs, has it’s own blog for their corporate news.
- - This blog is thought to connect with our end clients (someone like you and me) of our online store where we sell mobile apps (f.e. services for 1€ /month). So the design should be not that serious, but rather a touch more feminine and playful.
- - Not too many lists on main page! One section with reference to the most popular post is sufficient, a further reference to older post will be made at the bottom of a single post.
- - Out of our experience (more) pictures and visual elements catch more attention for a further reading of a post (check out our given examples in the brief!), so we look for a more engaging post design, f.e. like the headlines of the new Techcrunch Blog.
- - Implement a sleek "advanced search bar", no need of a space-occupying "keyword cloud" - we want to avoid that our readers are overwhelmed with unnecessary information.

Project Deadline Extended

Target Market(s)
Our main target group are people who NOT owns a smart phone, but rather posses any kind of phone device, never mind how old, never mind the age, gender or profession.
By calling a land-line number everyone can have access to our Mobile Services. We offer services for professional use, but as well for leisure. Our clients have to pay for our service, so we want to transmit trust, proximity and professionalism.
The only criteria we have, is that our client has a minimum technical ability to subscribe himself to a service on our homepage and configure his account there.

Look and feel (further inside)
Since we haven´t a final logo for our shop so far, neither a finished design we set any limits to your creativity (no restriction in color code). But in general we are looking for a modern, clean/tidy and fresh design which has an elegant, personable and playful touch.
We appreciate a lot innovative elements which distinguish from an ordinary blog design/structure. As it´s important that the site doesn´t appear too text heavy but rather has an engaging visual standout. Dynamic elements which open while making a mouse-over are, for example, nice features to cluster information so the page doesn´t seem to overloaded.
Concerning the content, find in this link in our existing company blog an example of news we used to publish: http://blog.almiralabs.com/launch_memmori. It´s important, that the font is not to small, but easy to read. That´s why a line spacing higher than 1.0 is wished for the blog post to meet this criteria.
Nice to have
- In the PDF Brief attached you find several URLs of Blogs which visualize in some part our main idea (please check them beforehand!)
Should not have
- We don´t look for an ordinary blog design.
Avoid too heavy text!
