Logo Design Brief
We are developing an online curriculum to address today's most common challenges around food, eating, weight, health and body image. Principles taught are from Eating Psychology, Mind Body Nutrition, Integrative Nutrition, Functional Neurology and Medicine. Domain is www.eatingIQ.com. The curriculum will be customizable and include videos and audio trainings, online quizzes and exercises. Enrollees will also have a personal eIQ Coach, access to an eIQ Facebook community, etc. Students will provide current lab work to rule out medical or clinical conditions, or can purchase lab kits on our online store. Other elements may include international EatingIQ Learning Centers, weekend live seminars/retreats and affiliate marketing. The logo concept, colors and tagline need to reflect our unique approach that focuses more on how our thinking, emotions, personality and lifestyle influences who, what, where, when, why and how we eat, more so than nutrition knowledge (and that diets don't work longterm). Lastly, since this is a web-based curriculum I will need other design elements so please let me know if you are available for those as well.
Updates
First, thank you to all the designers who took on this project. To see one's idea morph into a logo that truly convey the message is inspiring and motivating. Second, because of your submissions, my ideas for a logo have evolved. If you choose to submit a design, please read my updated BRIEF.Lastly, since this will be a web-based coaching curriculum, keep in mind that the image you create may be very useful for web page design, marketing materials, etc. One designer did that and it look really impressive, way beyond just a logo. With appreciation,Susan Swern, CIO (Chief Inspiration Officer}eatingIQ.com Added Sunday, August 30, 2015
Project Deadline Extended Reason: I have decided to extend this project to accommodate a few new designers who said they were submitting a logo design. I definitely want to have the must-have elements I revised in the brief. Thank you all existing designers for your efforts! Added Thursday, September 3, 2015

Requirements
Must have
- NEW CONCEPT: I have attached a file of a logo I designed but am seeking other submissions. I'm going for a chalkboard look, since this is a curriculum of study to become an intelligent eater. Font needs to be very readable but try handwriting font style. Image: Albert Einstein caricature at a blackboard with eIQ = or place the eIQ in a thought bubble above his head, or your own creative layout. Other caricatures can be a female coach or professor. Also, the IQ should be smaller and a superscript. THANK YOU!_____________________________
- Colors which convey intelligence, wisdom, openness and action/change - orange, magenta, yellow, green combination possibly. Nothing too cute or juvenile, but inviting, positive, professional and highly readable and recognizable as a trademark symbol/logo.
- To highlight the word eatingIQ, please use bold font and different color combination for both words. The IQ should stand out either as a bigger font or by color or font. While the font can be creative, I want the word to be easily seen and understood. I do want a separate logo image which includes eIQ creatively, even subtly, which could stand alone and still give brand recognition. It could subtly take the shape of ancient or other symbols for intelligence or wisdom, the shape of a lightbulb, mouth, brain, etc. but not a literal image of a spoon, brain, lightbulb, etc. Going for subtle and suggestive. It may be helpful to look at google images for wisdom and intelligence for ideas suggesting these qualities as it relates to eating.
- Tagline should be on one line and either small caps or with first word only capitalized.
- Attach TM or R symbol to trademark the logo and tagline (we will submit it for registration once completed).
- If you are knowledgeable in the consumer psychology of color & shapes to be inviting, inspiring and engaging, or of chakra color energies, please use those skills!!!
Nice to have
- If you design Web pages and business cards, feel free to show how your design elements would look on those. I will order those through you of course once I've decided on a final logo design.
Should not have
- Look like a typical weight loss, cooking or nutrition program.
- Be too feminine (even if the audience may be more women than men)
- Though we are positioning this curriculum online, it's real power is providing Mind Body/Eating Psychology coaching to all students to better tailor and integrate the learning.
