Logo Design Brief
This is a new firm, named "KeyOak", based in Raleigh North Carolina. The firm focuses on selling the technology services of several small firms located in other US cities to the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina market. Raleigh is the "City of Oaks", so this firm essentially is your firm's key to the "City of Oaks".
The logo needs to be distinctive, as well as modern. I want it to represent an opportunity that grows over time. The concept I am thinking is a key that intersects with a tree in bloom, with a distinctive font running along the length of the key.
I was thinking about the use of multiple colors. One of the major uses of the logo will be to frame technical whitepapers so that they are very memorable and distinctive. The main themes are sales, technology, opportunity, stability, and growth. I am open to the color scheme, but think there are graphical opportunities with the key and oak tree. I also want to be conscious of representing "technology" and modernity in the logo. This may be challenging with the concept of "Oak Tree", but I'm confident that the designers can overcome this challenge.
Target Market(s)
The target market is technology professionals, technology managers/directors and C-level executives. In addition, code development managers, developers and IT engineers.

Requirements
Must have
- Probably a key and oak tree, though I'm open to symbolic representations that convey stability, growth and opportunity.
Nice to have
- Multiple colors, a logo or pattern scheme that could frame whitepapers
Should not have
- The fonts used should be modern. The design should not convey the concept of stability in the same way that an insurance firm does, for example, with a staid tree. Symbolic conveyance or abstract conveyance of the concept is welcome.
