Logo Design Brief

I'm building a mobile app and am looking to get a logo created.

The app is called SlingSpoon - what it does is you take photos of your pantry, fridge, spice rack, etc and it will recognise most of the food products and then tell you what recipes you could be making for dinner with what you've got on hand. And for food it doesn't recognise (e.g. tub of flour) you can just pick from the list to fill in what you've got available. For busy families it lets one make new healthy meals without needing to plan ahead or run out to get new ingredients.

I want the logo to be simple - perhaps outlines but good quality - basically a spoon looking down wearing a cowboy hat with a loose chin strap. I'm going for a western gun slinger theme so wanted it to appear like the spoon is looking down sort of mysterious and lonesome (so the hat is shrouding most of it's "face"). Think quick draw showdown at the "O.K. Corral." I have some photos that embody what I'm thinking (attached). I'm just trying to come with a clear idea of what I want to make things easier but if you get a completely different idea please feel free to post.

I'd need a version that has just the logo so I can use on the app icon as well as a version with stylised text underneath the logo for the launch screen. I'm thinking the colour scheme might be similar to allrecipes.com or yummly.com. The launch screen will have the tag line "Quickly find recipes you can make with what you've got on hand."

PS. Its my first time using this service - always used 99designs before so also eager to see how it goes! :)
