Logo Design Brief

The name of my service is Brian Wiley's Plug-In Portfolios. I am a financial advisor and will be offering a monthly newsletter/website membership where users will have access to the investment portfolios I design. I do a daily financial radio program targeted at do-it-yourself investors where I provide advice, suggestions, explanation, etc. This service will compliment my show. I want a professional look, but not flashy and certainly something suitable for a blue collar to lower white collar type person. The emphasis should be on the Plug-In Portfolios, not my name (Brian Wiley). However, I would like my name to be in the logo design. My website domain is pluginportfolios.com (which is not published yet). The logo will be central to the design of my website and future newsletter. I like subdued colors, nothing too bright.

This information might help you... the portfolio service will provide the subscriber with simple instructions on what to hold in their investment portfolio. I will inform them monthly on what to buy and what to sell (and why). The service will be sold as a simple but sophisticated strategy based investing solution. My notion is that people just want to know what to buy and when to sell (or replace). The portfolio are designed using a very high level (typically reserved for the high net worth clients I serve).

The chosen design/designer may be asked to provide additional design work for a website and deliverable newsletter.

Must have

• Logo should include my name, but I do not want it to be central to the logo design. The words Plug-In Portfolios should be the featured words with my name as a subtle addition. I do not want whimsical designs. Rather, 'simple sophistication' is the look I am after.

Should not have

• No Whimsical looks. Nothing too bright or shiny.
