I need a logo and text design for my home-based jewelry business called Sidonia Jewelry. The name Sidonia comes from one of my cats, whose personality is a match to my own - saucy, wry, smart, confident but also sweet and silly.
I make necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. I am a metalsmith and work with base metals (bronze, brass, nickel, copper) and sterling silver, but I also still do bead and wire work. I love using found/vintage/upcycled materials in my pieces, including vintage metal stampings, enamel, plastic/resin/lucite/acrylic, buttons, and simply older and more unique items of all types.
The majority of these items have a flora or fauna theme, or are in an art deco/nouveau style. I just love finding materials with interesting lines and quirky shapes.
Go here to see pictures of some metal stampings that I use:

I am a very down-to-earth person who likes working with her hands and getting dirty. I'm not scared by insects or rodents. I love working with animals and volunteer for a local rescue group. Obviously I'm drawn to nature and animals, but I also have a great interest in culture and human creations. I have a degree in geography, which is the study of the interaction of the earth and humankind. I've also studied geology and religion. Though I don't care about getting messy and have this creative side, I'm also extremely organized, neat, and methodical. I always excelled at math and science in school. I'm somewhat ambidextrous, so I think I utilize both sides of my brain pretty equally. I can't stay away from stationery/paper supply stores, and I love maps and books. No e-readers or Kindle for me! I guess I'm just a very tactile-based person.
The majority of my customers are women across a very wide age range. My prices also run the gamut depending on materials, but I like making affordable jewelry that is accessible to more people. I do not aim to make fancy, elegant pieces that could be worn at formal occasions, though if it happens I do not complain.

Must have
- I need the logo to work well on a website, as an Etsy shop banner, and on business cards. I want it to look as if it was, or could have been, created by hand on paper or canvas, though obviously it will be in digital vector format.
Though normally the logo would be a reflection of the product, my jewelry is a mishmash and variety of styles. So instead I would like for the logo to reflect an art style, or styles, I love. I like art deco/nouveau, whimsical that is executed with simplicity, surreal, geometric, and some abstract. Overall I prefer simple lines to fanciful. You can use the following artists for inspiration, as I have their art hanging on my walls:

The logo must include the text 'Sidonia Jewelry' and then the graphic portion (which could be above, below, or beside the text) should be an artistic rendering of my cat Sidonia, or a fox, or a rabbit, or other similar animal, or multiple/combination thereof. Beyond that, you can add to the design as you feel inspired by the background information I've provided.
Keep in mind that my jewelry isn't cat-centric, just that Sidonia is kind of my mascot and obviously the inspiration for the name of the business. I don't want the image to be cutesy, though I do like whimsical.
I have attached some pictures of Sidonia for reference. The graphic does not need to be an exact replication of one these photos - they are simply there to show you what she looks like and to give you a sense of her personality and attitude. Please let me know if you need more information - I do realize this is asking a lot and might be confusing.
Nice to have
- I have not designated any specific colors for my business yet because I love pretty much all colors and cannot decide! If I had to rank the main colors in order of my favorites, I guess I would go with green, purple, blue, red, and orange. I equally like brown, gray, black, and white.
I'm not too fond of yellow, especially bright yellow, and I personally look best when wearing autumn or winter colors, but I like pretty much anything if it's presented in the right context and properly complemented. This is definitely an area where I'm open to possibilities.
I would also like a black and white version of the logo to use when needed. And I would like to be able to use the text and graphic separately.
Should not have
- It's hard to be specific, but I do *not* want a logo that looks like it was created digitally, all on a computer, even if it was. I want a hand-crafted look.
