CD Cover Design Brief

The Band is called ''Coronet Blue'' and the Album is called ''Better Day''.
The recording was done in Malibu CA with a famous producer Kevin Shirley. The style of music is rock pop, Bob Dylan style.

The concept for the album cover is based on a song ''Better Day'' which is listed on the album. We are all seeking a better day and if you can't find a better day then make it one for yourself.
The song gives you a sense of hope.

My idea is very simple as the music is very organic and stripped back and clean. The front and back cover is pure white; On the front is a whole orange which is starting to grow greenish mould on it. The mouldy orange has a cocktail umbrella stabbed in the side of it - this suggests that the fruit itself has had better days.I would also like on the orange countries/ continents- (Australia and Tasmania must feature). The countries should be clear and crisp and as they progressively reach the mould they merge into the mouldy part of the orange (the ocean would be the orange colour) never to be seen. World decaying like fruit.
On the back of the album would be a fresh dewy full orange with the same cocktail umbrella sticking out of it with the continents/ countries of the world


The printed image on the disc itself would be a 1/2 cut orange so its like a circle of orange.

I realise its very simple but it could be very effective like the Wilco album cover - ''a ghost inside'' where they have a full egg and inside the cover the whole egg shell is now cracked.
