Background: On July 21, 1831, the Belgians said “enough” to the Dutch. Enough wooden shoes. Enough tulips. And they celebrated their independence by doing what they do better than anyone else – they had a beer festival.

Importance will lie the Duvel duvel.com brand, following with Ommegang ommegang.com and Chouffe achouffe.be/en, with Liefmans liefmans.be DeKoninck dekoninck.be and Maredsous maredsousbieres.be playing more of a supporting role.

Looking to bring a more modern ‘edge’ to the notion of Belgian Independence Day while drawing on the nostalgia and history of Belgian beer revolution with use of retro imagery.

Target Market(s)

National better beer drinkers. Those that go to craft beer bars and purchase high end beer in grocery.
