what is the base shape of the sail? is it triangle or square?
can I add another color in the design?

It is basically a very large isosceles triangle. When full of wind it bellows out and looks like a segment of a sphere. The sail will be black. The boat is black and orange so we want the spinnaker sail only to be black and orange. If you google for spinnaker images you can see lots of examples of what the look like at sea.

Hi,

It is called Avant Garde so we want something that perhaps reflects the name. e.g. a bit out there, unusual, funky.
It is a small racing boat, it is fairly quick and built in France. We race her in South Australia. Most spinnaker sails are formed from colourful stripes of sail material. We want something unusual which will stand out from the fleet of racers.

Typical sails can be seen if you google spinnaker images. You can see they are mostly striped and dull. We are looking for something unusual and eye catching. We are constrained by the way sails are made - which is why they are usually made from basic geometric shapes. However there is a company in Sydney who can pain any singl colour image onto my black sail so that is a possibility.
