Logo Design Brief

HOPE For Mexico is a non profit charity that will provide much needed help to existing schools in Mexico. We tried to adopt a child from Mexico for 7 years without success. Along the way we met some amazing people that have become our family. We watched and experienced years of violence due to the ongoing drug war there. We were forced for three years to stop our travels in that country. We organized Canada's first peace rally in downtown Toronto a few years ago and from that we have grown to a non profit organization that helps educate the youth in Mexico. We believe education is the key to freedom. A child that is educated will hopefully make a better choice one day and not fall into the hands of drug cartels or a life of crime. We have no affiliation to a religious organization. We are a family of three who just loves that country and the people who call it home. We will be building bathrooms in kindergarten schools with clean drinking water, bringing them playground equipment, computers and supplies. We will build on to the existing schools and bring them art or computer rooms. Theatre or music rooms. So I always envisioned a school house as part of our logo.
How I envisioned but new ideas are always welcome:
HOPE For Mexico in deep red
A small school house icon drawn in thick chalk just above the word Mexico. I also thought a swirlled sombrero could swish around the peak of the school house.
Our mission statement in small lower case printing in black:
building freedom through education
Something very simple, yet professional and classic that has longevity.

Target Market(s)

Big companies such as Gillette, Volks Wagon, Toyota companies that have factories in Mexico. But also must work for simple fundraising efforts.
