Logo Design Brief
Document Genetics are a Document Management Software company based in the UK and are launching a new product called ParetoPost™ which provides an assured method of delivering electronic documents instantly via a secure web portal.
The Pareto law is more commonly known as the 80/20 rule. Any ideas to convey this would be appreciated.
It's great for the guaranteed delivery of:
• E-Billing - invoices, statements etc
• Proof of Delivery
• Purchase Orders
• Drawings and project information
• Staff documentation
It delivers electronic documents quickly, securely and with a low transmission cost (and we're confident companies will make a saving of up to 80% over traditional post). The end-user experience is designed for fast delivery, simplicity and ease of use. ParetoPost™ also helps companies reduce their carbon footprint. We want to communicate that ParetoPost™ is innovative and related to saving money.
This identity will be used in various formats (web, powerpoints, image watermarks roller banners, etc), therefore the designs submitted need to be flexible enough to allow different layout, size and maybe colour options. It would also be a huge help when deciding on which design to choose if you could describe and/or show us how you see your design fitting in with the different medias mentioned above. One idea is to use some form of identity from the logo as a backdrop within the website pages and PowerPoints etc.
Whilst on the subject of colour, we are offering free reign at this time, the only condition is that consideration has to be made for the formats we will be using the identity in MOST IMPORTANTLY the web.
Due to the nature of this project we are likely to need to make changes to the text and layout of the designs in the future.
Therefore any fonts used must be freely available fonts and must be submitted along with the design or instructions on how to obtain the font.
Updates
Hi All. Thanks for designs that have been submitted so far, there are some interesting ones! Just to inform you all that I have amended the brief somewhat so it might be worth referring back to it and having another look.
Any questions, please let me know.
Thanks

After reviewing the submissions that have come in so far the direction we are currently leaning towards is as follows:
* Logo / Graphic together with Text - (layout your idea)
* Logos and Text should be used to show the core features of the product as listed in the brief with emphasis on delivery of mail (electronic), speed and security (in this order of precedence). The more that can be fitted into the design without overcrowding it or making it 'busy' the better - be creative!
* Clean images and text - ie not too busy (remember the main use for this will be on web / web applications)
At present colour schemes are still not fixed and we are open to suggestions (again consider web colours).
Something that is eye catching, unique will look good on web applications is what we are going to choose, so be creative submit something that we are going to fall in love with. If you look at it and can't envisage it on a website / web application is the design right?
