I need a logo for my book editing company, BookScience.
I help people write their books, from start to finish. So I advise on structure, style, substance: everything. I'm also a little different from other editors because I use findings from psychological research in my work (what makes readers remember things, what kind of info people can handle in the abstract and what kind they need concrete examples for, etc).
My services are pretty high-end, and so I'm looking for a classy logo that reflects this. Later on I'd like to create a website that feels like the inside of a beautiful book, with all the focus on stylish typography with an artsy twist, and so the logo should be the pillar of that concept. With this in mind, I'm thinking not too much color, a major focus on typography that makes you think of a book, but more beautiful, stylish and extravagant. I'd also like it if the 'science' part were to be represented somehow, perhaps with a little measurement in the logo or a formula: something 'sciency' like that. The picture I added to this brief (April 10) might be a good inspiration: typography instructions already look like 'the science of writing'. However you do it though, the visual should be: look at this gorgeous book we've created through science.
The word 'BookScience' should be in larger letters, accompanied in smaller script by 'editing'.

Requirements
Must have
- Typography that screams book, but more striking and maybe with a twist. Something 'sciency' in the logo. Classy, expensive look.
Should not have
- Not childish, not too feminine, not too much color (right now I'm think shades of black and white with perhaps a splash of color, but I'm open to other ideas). IMPORTANT: it would be good to stay away from the BS thing (a logo in which you put the letters B and S together). BullShit editing is not really the kind of class I'm going for :)
