Web Design Brief

I run a site which indexes PC digital game deals - http://www.cheapshark.com/ Basically, it let's users quickly compare prices at various services and find the cheapest one to buy it from.

I designed the site myself initially, and now that my userbase has grown, I'm looking for a professional re-design of the few simple pages on the site (home/browse/search).

The re-design should keep the original structure of the site, but build upon and polish it up. In other words, any designs submitted should be fairly similar looking to the current site.

Minimalistic is good. The design should appeal to a younger audience, and shouldn't look too much like a business/corporate site.

Sites I really like the design of include anything Google, Mint.com, GoG.com, and SoundCloud to name a few. I also am a fan of FlatUI - http://designmodo.com/demo/flat-ui/

Target Market(s)

The target audience of the site is young males (18-24) who are PC gamers

Requirements
Must have
  • Must follow the original structure of the site (roughly).

This means the front page should still be tops deals by store. The browse page should still be a list like it is now. Things should be completely familiar to current users after the redesign, with better aesthetics.
Nice to have
  • A way to easily expand the filters on the browse page (top), so that more can be added in the future without a complete re-design.

If possible design should take into account the theme I use with JqueryUI (for the buttons, and modal popups). Although modifications to this design is fine.
Should not have
  • Large stock photos, or stock photos in general.
