Logo Design Brief

We are the Woodcliff Lake Educational Foundation, currently have a logo - an apple (this is dated more like 80's90's) we need a refresh. Don't want to trendy so that in 2 years will be dated, something that is classic contemporary. More cutting edge, our primary goal is providing funds back to the schools that are educational in nature - alot of items we grant back are technological in nature. We want people to look at our logo know what we do, we're helping move our schools/children preparing them for the future. I think bold lines, shapes, color and typography will help us get noticed and remembered. For short we call ourselves WCLEF. We want to use on letter head, our website, facebook page all promo materials etc.
