Logo Design Brief

We need a new logo for our building / construction business, Dan Darwen Builders Limited based in Golden Bay, NZ. We are a small business with around 6 employee's, we build new homes, architectural homes, renovations/extensions, light commercial buildings, farm buildings. Golden Bay is a beautiful rural, coastal town located at the top of the South Island of NZ. It is a tourist hot spot, with a large number of the residential homes being holiday homes.
Dan Darwen Builders Ltd has been in business for about 10 years, and our current logo is for want of a better word...BORING! We need a change, we want a more professional, up to date image. We don't live in the city so don't want anything OTT, rather more simple but effective, environmentally friendly (as we live in a very "Green" community), we want to appeal to a wide range of people, we want to be seen to be approachable, friendly, down to earth, creative, quality, reliability, professional etc... Colours, we have been thinking maybe greens or blues. Our vehicles are black so will want something that will stand out when we have them sign written.
We have a basic website www.dandarwenbuilders.co.nz . We will also want to apply our logo to our vehicles, building site signs, business cards, quotes/invoices/etc done on MS Office products. I have added a file showing our current logo.
