Web Design Brief
Looking for a new site theme that uses tiles like Huffingtonpost.com but with a unique style. Topbar categories should include following in any particular order w/ pop-out at touch w/ sub-categories (examples below): The main categories for display have an >> prefix . Note main catgories and sub-categories may change.
SPECIAL NOTE: Regional site. We need a way to navigate/drill-down to specific regions on the Central Coast (see the cities accross the top on the current site design)
PORTAL SITE: This site will have a back-end w/ my account and therefore may use a Bootstrap template on the back-end for managing Tiles and articles. Tiles would be the organic content/advertisements on the home page that link to the sub-pages.

Requirements
Must have
- My account (maybe a black bar w/ CC logo accross top w/ My Account, Settings, Login etc)
- Conversion of existing organic content and advertisements to new Tiles platform.
Nice to have
- Kind of a Hybrid between Bing.com and HuffingPost.com
- PORTAL THOUGHTS
- If everything were to be thought of as a tile to preview in a 3 column wide format w/ variable heights you can fit articles and sound content mixed in with advertorials.
- Every square tile on CentralCoast.com could be encapsulated into a “Tile”. The Tile is the preview of the landing page, article, or page.
- Every article, business listings, google map page, etc. can have a Tile associated with it. OR you create a Tile and link it to a URL/page.
- So Tiles become mini snippets of custom HTML that can have 1 or more links etc… Just an HTML Snippet.
- Tile/HTML Snippet
- PreviewTiles.aspx
- Shows all tiles sortable like a product catalog, etc. Additional columns for publishing the tile and where it should reside on the Front Page?
- NEW THEME
- Removal of the traditional CC sidebar and incorporating the triple tile site design. We can still have Edgewater or a major display as first thing you see above top-bar. The categories can be incorporated into a simple top-bar that on-click you pop-down all subcategories and anything featured. This supports tablets and handhelds instead of the traditional mouse-over...
- Comp Layout (see huffingtonpost.com)
- 3 columns to 1 column style?
- How to handle mobile devices? (Tiles technique supports Yahoo news mobile app - 3 columns PC/Mac browser - 1 column Mobile Phone
- Tile & Page MGT
- How do we convert the existing content pages to our new Tile/Page technique?
- How do we handle advertising Tiles and Tiles embedded on pages?
- Pages
- How is a page handled?
- How are Tiles managed and is that a Page or not?
- How are listings handled and are they defined as a Page?
