hI. yOU HAVE CHOOSE A VERY KNOWN LOGO - WOOLMARK - BIG PROBLEM

You beat me to it! Yes, that logo already exists for an established company...

That's the trouble with abstract icons, there just aren't enough concepts to go around.

Be serious. It is an exact copy. No coincidence. I am tired to work and somebody using a copied design to win. It is one of many.

I guess it depends on if the designer was aware of this logo existing or not for it to be an intentional copy, but I agree that it is a copyright infringement.

My point about abstract icons and concepts falls under your 'it is one of many' comment. How many times have you seen the abstract man shape for a people focussed company? You know the one with the V for a body. And how many times have you seen a shape with white space lines through it for a financial company? Are these 'trends' or just everyone copying each other to win?

And, just another point, even if this logo hadn't pre-existed, doesn't it contradict the name of the company? To me this icon represents tight-knit (excuse pun) and impenetrable - nothing to do with release.

Hi, i think was great you point out the sameness of the design, without it, i would realize. I didnt know that brand/logo, at least i didnt remembered, and yes its an unfortunate coincidence,

I think i wouldn't use a big company logo that i know any can recognice, if i known that logo of couse wouldn't made it like that one, i would try another concept. i have won many designs to start copying other big companies logos. i personally often use the "style" of an element mirroring on his axis. it was an array i made of arcs shapes (to make like an wave shape), then rotate mirroring that shape. im not pretend to defending to keep it has winner (clearly it cant), but it wasnt premeditated.

and the idea of the design was represent movement (thats why the arcs) that lead you from one of the 3 elements to other, representing the stages of idea-development-releasing . (thats why the 3 shapes)

and most important, im very sorry with the project owner for this inconvenience.

Ok,

It looks like I can''t use this logo for legal reasons. I agree that it looks exactly like that woolmark logo.

I am contacting DesignCrowd for guidance on how to proceed.  There was a second place choice submitted by Bolshoi, and some other logos were very nice.  Please stay tuned.

Thanks!
